The ifs has launched a new training program for TV entertainment producers. The practice-oriented and industry-oriented qualification offer is intended to counter the current lack of skilled workers in the industry with an offer tailored specifically to the needs of non-fictional entertainment production. Furthermore, the aim is to ensure the sustainable development of the industry in North Rhine-Westphalia as the leading entertainment location in Germany.
Initiated and supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the program was developed at ifs in close cooperation with the Entertainment Master Class and NRW producers. Further cooperation partners are the Film- und Medienverband NRW and the Allianz Deutscher Produzenten Film und Fernsehen e.V.
The program is aimed at industry players with practical experience who would like to expand their skills in the field of entertainment production. The structure follows a multi-level concept: a basic program imparts and deepens the central creative, technical and commercial core competences in the three fields of development, production and marketing. The following advanced modules are dedicated to individual entertainment genres and special fields of competence. The lecturers* are experts from the entertainment industry.
In close cooperation with the industry, a permanent qualification programme in the form of a part-time Master’s programme in “Entertainment-Producing” is to be established in the future. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia as the main provider of funding for ifs supports the program as well as the further development of the ifs study program.
